North West Club visit to IAE

On the 19th October 2011, 17 members and friends visited the IAE company who are very well known in the agricultural industry with many of us using their products on a daily basis. [report]

English Winter Fair 2011

The North West Club hosted a stand at the English Winter Fair on the 19th and 20th November 2011 and held a competition in aid of the North West Air Ambulance Charity. [report]

North West Club Calf Show 2011

Forty-six calves from sixteen individual herds were entered in the classes for homebred calves 12 months of age and under. [report]

An evening with the Norbreck Herd


On Thursday 21st July North West Club members were pleased to join with the Boland Farmers Group and representatives of Carrs Billington Agriculture to spend an evening visiting the Norbreck Herd at home in Cockerham, Lancashire, by kind invitation of the Halhead family. [report]

Farm Walk with the Cromwell Herd

On Sunday the 8th May 2011 around 125 visitors enjoyed a farm walk with Adam Neachell’s herd of Pedigree British Blue Cattle at Shrubbery Farm, Aldridge, Staffordshire. [report]

A Farm Walk with the Hartley Herd

On the 3rd October North West Club members were invited to spend the day at Tim and Sara Mountford’s Wetmoor farm in Hartley Green, Gayton, Staffordshire. [more]

Farm Walk at the Pendle and Brennand British Blue Herds

The North West Club members, families and friends were privileged to be invited to a farm walk with the Hartley Family’s Pendle Herd and the Walker Family’s Brennand herd on the 1st August 2010. [more]

AGM 2010

At the AGM on Monday 8th February 2010, Mark Hartley was re-elected as Chairman and John Okell as Vice-chairman. Having made it previously known, Janet Belfield advised that she did not wish to stand again as the Secretary. Mark Hartley paid tribute to Janet for her long-standing period as Secretary and presented her with an arrangement of flowers and, from club members, a set of six British Blue Cattle Society engraved wine glasses. After a vote Jackie Smith was elected as Secretary. Janet Belfield then accepted the position as Treasurer.

Three committee members retired at the end of their period of office and three new committee members were elected, Paul Gerrard (Antrobus herd), Mark Hambleton (Clayfields herd) and Harriet Wilson (Haughton herd).

The club’s next AGM is scheduled for January 2011 with the date to be advised.
