Breed Improvement Incentive

It is difficult to assess how a new born calf will develop and, whilst the Society requires calves to be registered by 45 days of age, it also recognises that faults often become apparent as the animal grows and develops.

In order to encourage the breeding of quality animals, in such circumstances, the Society will give a partial refund against the initial registration costs, if the breeder decides to de-register such a calf within 12 months of age.

In the last three years over £4,000 has been refunded on this scheme in the pursuit of breed improvement.
