JOHNSTOWN SAPPHIRE REIGNS SUPREME AT BALMORAL
Johnstown Sapphire took the overall breed championship
The October 2022 born heifer Johnstown Sapphire took the overall breed championship at Balmoral under judge Richard Mowbray.
Only shown previously at a small local show, Sapphire is by Mountjoy Utopia and will join the 10 or so breeding females at the Croob Herd of Seamus Branniff in Ballynahinch, Co. Down.
Artlone Tequila from Joshua Arrell
For his reserve champion, Droit herd owner Mr Mowbray went for the young heifer class winner, Artlone Tequila from Joshua Arrell, Randalstown, Co. Antrim.
Standing under Sapphire in the senior heifer class was Joshua Arrell’s Artlone Tasty but in the young heifers, second place went to Rathlyon Shania, a daughter of the popular Boherard Overdose.
Donaghmore Umaska
James and Scott Boyd from Newry won both the champion and reserve rosettes in the bull classes with their Donaghmore Umaska and Donaghmore Urea respectively while Joshua Arrell took the pairs class.
