The Border British Blue Club held its Autumn Show and Sale on Friday 29th September 2023, at Borderway Mart, Carlisle.
Male and Supreme Champion, Criffel View Romeo - 7,000gns
The judge, young breeder, Tom Maudsley of the Littlebank Herd, chose as his Male and Supreme Champion, Criffel View Romeo (lot 4), from David and Lynn Watret. This mostly black son of Greystone Noveltee caught the eye of Messrs. Baillie, Newton Stewart, who secured him for 7,000gns.
Almeley Raikonen from the Morgan family, who sold for 6,500gns
Following closely behind, was Almeley Raikonen, (lot 2) a powerful white son of Almeley Wellington from the Morgan family, who sold for 6,500gns, to G Hughes, Darlington.
Female and Reserve Overall Champion, Top Side Sabrina sold for 5,500gns
Topping the females was the Female and Reserve Overall Champion, Top Side Sabrina (lot 10) from Ross & Elaine Pattinson. This black and white heifer was sired by Naby Golddust and sold to Robert Orr, West Lothian for 5,500gns. Also, from the same home and by the same sire, was Top Side Snazzy Lady (lot 13) who sold for 3,800gns to Gary Allen, Bicester.
Selling at 4,000 gns was Stonebyres Sasha
Selling at 4,000 gns was Stonebyres Sasha (lot 8) from Blair & Shona Comrie, this Kersey Geronimo daughter sold to Messrs. Hunter, Annan. Also, from the same stable was Stonebyres Sapphire (lot 9) at 3,800 gns. This one was sired by Clinton Du Falgi and sold to Messrs. Harvey, Suffolk.
