WOODVIEW HERD PROVIDES EXACTLY WHAT THE COMMERCIAL TRADE REQUIRES
WITH QUALITY CATTLE AND 100% CLEARANCE

Auctioneer, David Thomlinson, opened the 2nd Production sale, of the Woodview Herd, of Andrew and Pamela Craig on Saturday 10th June 2006, by drawing the attention of the packed ring, to the concentration and dedication of the breeding of the Woodview Herd, with the focus on providing exactly what the commercial market required, with high meat yield, combined with growth stature and quality loins.

The success of this focused approach was truly evident in the subsequent sale, where there was a 100% clearance of the 60 lots forward.

The leading price went to lot 27 “Woodview Uni ET” an October ’02 born cow, by “Seduisant De Fooz”, out of” Woodview Oprah”, with her 15 week old calf, “Woodview Black Girl” by “Gitan Du Pitit Mayeur”, being knocked down at 6,800 gns, to G Beacom, Kesh, Northern Ireland.

Victoria and John Workman from Killiaughter, Larne, went home with the sweet, January born heifer, “Woodview Bambie ET”, with her recipient dam, being knocked down at 6,500 gns. “Bambie” was sired by “Dafydd D’Ochain”, out of “Woodview Trixie.”

The Royal Highland Show 2005, Junior Female Champion, “Woodview Vanessa ET”, realised 6,000 gns, to James & Gloria Annett, from Kilkeel, Co. Down. Vanessa was out of “Ridge Dean Tiffany” and sired by “Balto De Steinbach” and was sold in calf to “Dafydd D’Ochain.”

The four bulls on offer, topped at 4,600 gns with the April ’05 born “Woodview Alec,” who was sired by “Affute Du Ry Ossogne”, out of “Woodview Uptown”. This very powerful, black & white bull found a new home with K O Stones, Richmond, North Yorks.

S & D Blaylock, Greenlaw, Berwickshire, purchased “Woodview Allie”, a March ’05 bull, for 3,600 gns. Allie was out of “Woodview Trixie” and sired by “Ingenieux Du Stordeur.”

Society Secretary, John Fleming commented ‘It was pleasing to see such a tremendous interest, from both the Pedigree and commercial sectors, from all over the UK, in the quality genetics on offer at this sale. The animals on show were a true credit, not only to the skilful breeding of the vendor, Andrew Craig, but also to the breed in general. ‘
