National, County and Local Shows - accolades shower down on North West Club members

North West Club members ‘lucky’ enough to be inside the Bluetongue Surveillance Zone were free to attend many of the prestigious agricultural shows this season.

Ever the optimists many of our top showmen bit the bullet and sent off the entries to the shows and prepared their high value cattle to travel to ‘those parts that others could not reach’. Not withstanding the reduced class sizes the quality of ‘Blues’ at the shows meant that every class had to be won and there were no ‘walkovers’ to be had.

Jane & Danny Wyllie’s impressive stock bull Ballygrange Alex, by Woodview Solo out of Ballygrange Roxy, travelled the length and breadth of the zone picking up Breed Championships at The Royal Show and the Great Yorkshire show, Reserve Breed Champion at the Royal Cornwall Show and Stafford County Show and was one of the group that won the Interbreed Group of Three at Stafford. He was breed Reserve Male Champion at Leicester County Show.

Cromwell Classy Boots was Reserve Female Champion and Reserve Best Junior Animal at the Leicester Show, and Reserve Female Champion at Newark & Notts Show.
