Carlisle Autumn Sale 2006

27th September 2005

The Society Sale on Wednesday 27th September 2006 at Borderway Mart, Carlisle saw only three North West Club members offering cattle for sale.

Due to Danny Wyllie judging the show earlier in the day the Tamhorn herd entries were not eligible to compete, however Tamhorn Amazon and Tamhorn Ambassador both 19 months old sons of Dafydd D’Ochain out of Leverhulme Nimbus attracted keen bidding and were knocked down for 5000gns and 4800gns respectively.

Jim Barber’s entry, Astbury Alex, a nineteen months old Sceptre De Bomal son out of homebred Astbury Trudie with Classique De St Lambert as his paternal grandsire and Baron Du Bois Bauloye as his maternal grandsire, was withdrawn from the ring not having reached the valuation Jim puts on him.

Jim along with Bruce Wardlaw offered for sale Burton Trudie, a Gypse De Haute Somme daughter out of Bruce’s homebred cow Burton Opal, with her five months old heifer calf Burton Bettina, by Balto De Steinbach, at foot. Burton Trudie had been AI’d to Felicien De Courriaulx . This stylish outfit with two and possibly a third life was withdrawn from the ring not having reached the valuation placed on them.
