4200gns Leads Belgian Blues at Dungannon

Dungannon Farmers Mart opened the Spring sale of Belgian Blues organised by the Northern Ireland Blue Cattle Club on Saturday 22nd March, with Lot 1, ‘Chatham Sandy ET’, out of ‘Chatham Kayne ET’ by ‘Railway View Hector’ being knocked down at 4200gns to Mr. Starkey of Downpatrick.

This stylish senior bull was presented by W R Anderson of Benburb, Co. Tyrone.

The Reserve Championship ‘Springhill Temptor’ out of ‘Springhill Polo’ by ‘As de Trefle Du Vanova’ exhibited by Martin Bros. of Newtonards, Co Down, found a home with Ian Irwin, Ballinamallard, Co Fermanagh after being bid to 3100gns.

An incalf heifer, ‘Aghavilly Shirley’ by ‘EWN Elwin’ out of ‘Lukeroyal Lady Di ET’ made 1500gns. sold by Joe McCarragher to Jim Hunter, Ballynahinch.

A packed ring viewed the show, judged by Cyril Martin up from Carrickmacross, a member of the Irish Belgian Blue Society, he was assisted by their secretary, Jariath Duggan. ‘Foglish Tim’ out of ‘Foglish Pam’ by ‘Savant De Pierrecome’ exhibited by L A Richardson was put up as Supreme Champion and realised 2500gns and went to Andrew Millar, Antrim.
