Strong demand, with quality stock being highly sought after, was the order of the day, when the Spring consignment of Belgian Blues came under the hammer, at Dungannon on 3rd April 2004.

The top price and Champion Male and Supreme Champion acholade being claimed by L. A. Richardson, Maguiresbridge, Co Fermanagh, with July ’02 born ‘Hillview United.’ A son of ‘Railway View Hector’ out of ‘Chatham Susan’, finding a home with Ed Smith, Ballygawley being knocked down for 3400gns.

Hillview United, owned by Adrian Richardson, Maguiresbridge was the supreme champion. Also included are, Sam Milliken, Coleraine, judge of the event and Tommy Armstrong, Provita, Sponsors.

Jack & Anne Morrison were close behind, with a son of ‘Lenborough Oliver’, ‘Chatham Utopia,’ out of ‘Chatham Racie’, making 3200gns, to Johnston Doole, Toonebridge.

Knockagh Utopia’ found itself alongside the Supreme Champion ‘Hillview United’, after being put up as Reserve Champion, Male and Reserve Supreme Champion, by judge Sam Milliken of the Seygorry Herd, at Coleraine.

Champion Female going to ‘Cassan Sarah ET’, from the Gordon Buchannon stable, finding a new home with Benny Robinson, Benburb, for 1150 gns.

Cassan Sarah ET owned by Gordon Buchanan, Lisbellaw was the Female Champion at the NI Belgian Blue Club Annual Show and Sale in Dungannon. David Farrell, Lisbellaw exhibited the winner while judge of the event, Sam Milliken, Coleraine is also pictured.

Reserve Female Champion went to Gary Johnson’s ‘Auchavilly Ultra’.

Northern Ireland Club Chairman, Mel Lucas, commented “We have had a very satisfactory days trading, with brisk bidding, leaving vendors well pleased. The Club is indebted to “Provita Animal Health” for their generous sponsorship of the show and sale.”
