East of England Show 2009

Champion at the 2009 East of England Show (judged by Philip Halhead, Lancaster), was Stafford-based Danny and Jane Wyllie’s July 2005 born bull Ballygrange Alex, sired by Woodview Solo out of Ballygrange Roxy.

The bull was described by Phil Halhead as “a bull with a great future, he has great frame, size, muscling and locomotion.” Taking the reserve spot was John Mawyer, Spilsby, Lincs, with his April 2002 born cow Immediate ET 2840 De Mehogne. She is by Tonique ET 8773 Du Vivier out of Tonique 6984 De Mohogne.

The British Blues were also on winning form leading the way in the Beef Quartet completion in front of judges Mike Yeandle, Dorset and Charlie McLean, Hampshire.

The team of four consisted of the champion and reserve champion Blue exhibits as well as two heifers from Andrew Price, Kent: Wilodge Cilla (by Wilodge Ulex out of Wilodge Uptown Girl) and Wilodge Cover Girl (same breeding as before).
