Splitting the judges were The Firm of Hugh Gordon, of Clochnahill, Stonehaven, with the 363.4kg Blue, which graded -U4L, and the Firm of Robert Dawson, of Devon Farm, Kennoway, with a 340kg Limmy, also graded -U4L

ABP Perth general manager, Frank Ross, paid tribute to the high standard of carcases forward for the annual competition, and stressed that the margin between all the steaks in the 12 farm finalist shortlist was very fine indeed, as evidenced by the split decision on the third-placed steak as well.
