British Blues go live on semenstore.co.uk

SemenstoreThe on-line semen company, Semenstore Ltd, has announced that British Blue semen is now available through its website semenstore.co.uk

Semen from nineteen pedigree British Blue bulls is now available to purchase online through the ecommerce site, semenstore.co.uk. Launched in January 2009 the website has to this point sold semen exclusively from approximately 70 Limousin bulls. Following the go-live on 1st February 2010, the site now also includes semen from a selection of pedigree British Blue bulls aimed at both the commercial and breeding sectors.

Welcoming the launch, Semenstore Ltd Director Iain Kerr said: “We are delighted to have the British Blues on board. Our aim is to provide a fully automated and comprehensive “one-stop-semen-shop” that makes it easy to market, sell, locate and buy semen. The website has traded significantly, including exports, in its first 12 months and the addition of British Blue semen will be a further enhancement to Semenstore.co.uk.”

John Fleming, Secretary of the British Blue Cattle Society said: “We’ve been impressed by the principle of the semenstore.co.uk and how straightforward it is to use. It is professional and modern and will provide an added value service for both British Blue pedigree breeders and commercial customers.”

The site has been built flexibly and with a view to being able to incorporate other interested breeds, species and companies. Fully automated, semenstore.co.uk enables prospective purchasers in the UK and abroad to browse, consider, and purchase semen of their choice, there and then, online. All handling and delivery costs are included in the final price and delivery is made to the purchaser’s designated delivery address, accommodating both DIY AI and Technician services.

For those selling semen, semenstore.co.uk markets bulls in a professional, co-ordinated and efficient manner. It collects all monies due, credit accounts on a monthly basis and looks after all aspects of storage, delivery and stock maintenance on the seller’s behalf. Taking out the admin and work involved in semen selling has proved a popular benefit for vendors.

Through administering a portfolio of semen on behalf of a Limousin and British Blue customer base, and by automating processes to semen companies, semenstore.co.uk provides competitive prices on semen storage, delivery and handling costs for buyers and sellers. Very much in keeping with a partnership-based approach the Cheshire-based semen company, Cogent Breeding Ltd, acts as the on-line site’s central storage and delivery hub.
