Herd Competition 2012

The Border British Blue Club’s Fourth Annual Herd Competition was open to all fully paid up members residing within the Border British Blue Club area. The herds were split into two categories (small and large herds). Large herd was a herd that registers more than 5 calves a year and small herd is a herd that registers less than 5 calves a year into the British Blue herd book.

The club would like to thank David Allen for the sponsorship of this event.

The Judge Graham Coates (Greystone Herd) had the very difficult task of judging the event.  Graham would like to thank all that entered for their hospitality.  The small herd was won once again by Neil and Irene Armstrong, High Tarns Farm, Silloth (Goodyhills).  The winner of the large herd went to James McGarva, Horseclose Farm, Cummertrees, Annan (Abington).  The Goodyhills herd went on to win the Overall Herd Competition.

The prize giving took place at the Auctioneer Suite, Rosehill, Carlisle.

The Border Club would like to thank everyone who helped make the Herd Competition a great success.
