A CENTRE RECORD FOR A CULL COW - £2148

Buckabank Farms, selling an 882 kilo cast cow at 243.50pk, making £2147.67. Such a buoyant trade puts a very sound foundation into a pedigree breeders finances.

On Monday 27th April 2009, The Border British Blue Club held their annual show and sale of primestock in conjunction with Harrison and Hetheringtons weekly primestock sale.

The show was kindly sponsored by J Stobart and sons, Newlands Quality Farm Foods, T.W Relph & Sons Ltd and Harrison & Hetherington Insurance Brokers Ltd. The Show of cattle was most ably judged by Mr J Riley of Riley Brothers.

The Championship was awarded to a stylish heifer consigned by JE & G Burrow of Flatt House Farm, Skipton which later sold for 237.5p per kilo £1296.7 purchased by Bowland Foods on behalf of Pattons Quality Butchers, Millom.

The Reserve Championship was awarded to the 1st prize heavy weight heifer consigned by Messrs Watson of Cunningarth selling for 213.5p £1268.19 to Mr M Atkinson of Ripon.
